Our History

Next Generation Orthopedic and Spine Institute (NXGOSI) is a provider of orthopedic services in Woodlands, Texas established in 2014 by Dr. Anthony Owusu who has performed hundreds of spinal procedures and has published and presented industry-leading research in spine surgery. Dr. James Carson, a highly sought-after orthopedic surgeon, joined the practice in 2022, greatly expanding the range of services offered to patients. Our services revolve around the treatment of pain associated with the back, neck, hips, knees, shoulders, and anywhere in between. This includes the bones, joints, ligaments, nerves, and tendons. We offer in-house injections, referrals for conservative care, and surgeries. Our team is in the process of adding physical therapy to our list of services.

NXGOSI accepts workers’ compensation claims, most private insurance plans, traditional Medicare, and personal injury cases.

ANIEBIET UDOFIA, MD, MBA Orthopedic Surgeon

At the Woodlands, Texas-based Next Generation Orthopedic & Spine Institute, Dr. Udofia practices orthopedic surgery as a fellowship trainee. She graduated with a Bachelor of Biological Sciences from Stanford University as an undergraduate. Dr. Udofia completed her medical education at the University of Southern California, where she also obtained her medical degree. She proceeded to the University of Michigan to complete her master’s program in business administration, marketing, and entrepreneurship. After completing her residency in orthopedic surgery at Howard University Hospital, she attended Cleveland Clinic Foundation for a fellowship in sports medicine, minimally invasive arthroscopic operations, total joint replacements, orthopedic trauma, and biologic joint preservation. She is an expert in orthopedic and sports medicine. She handled hundreds of minimally invasive fractures, joint replacements, arthroscopic procedures, and injectable treatments.

Dr. Udofia’s love of sports and her family’s strong links to college football served as her inspiration for becoming a prosperous orthopedic and sports medicine physician. She has a strong commitment to providing each patient with personalized care and dignity. Patients will be grateful that she would exhaust all conservative management options before recommending surgery. When surgery is indicated, Dr. Udofia employs the most recent advancements in technology and efficacious techniques.
